In this game, a blizzard has taken the power grid down. You are a trainee at a local powerplant that cannot provide enough power for the whole city. You job is to provide enough power to everyone and balance the generator in order to prevent a total blackout that will leave the city unprotected from the snowstorm.

Instructions:

The longer the blocks remain unpowered the more damage there will be due to criminals vandalizing infrastructure. When the blocks are powered the local authorities will be able to detain the criminals and repair crews will be able to repair the damage. Another side-effect of blocks being unpowered is that the temperature will decrease and the people will start freezing, when that happens some people may rebel and start doing more damage to the infrastructure. The health of each block is dictated by the health bar on the bottom right of the screen, next to the energy consumption bar. If a block has reached the point of freezing, a thermometer icon will appear.

You have to prevent the blocks from being destroyed by making sure to power them long enough for the damage caused while they were unpowered to be repaired until the timer in the top left corner runs out. ( Keep in mind that the blocks with a higher criminality and wealth percentage are going to get more damage. ) However, you can't power all the blocks simultaneously so you have to balance the blocks powered with the available energy or the generator will overstress and start loosing health.

If five or more blocks get destroyed or if the generator gets destroyed before the timer runs out, the grid will fail leaving the city into darkness and you will loose. On the other hand if you manage to sustain power until the timer runs out, your boss will arrive, the grid will be restored and you will win.

How to play:

Click on the different blocks in order to select one. The selected block will be highlighted with blue.

In order to turn the power of a block on or off, click on the toggle buttons in the bottom right corner. There is the main power button that activates and deactivates the power of the whole block and there are five individual buttons that activate and deactivate, in this specific order: the apartments, the houses, the mansions, the commercial buildings and the public spaces.

Enjoy!

why is the temperature -2000, below kelvin, whats the point of cooling system?

The cooling system reduces temperature because if the generator overheats it will start loosing health. Depending on how much energy is being consumed the generator will get hotter, so if there is a huge load ( many blocks are powered simultaneously ) the cooling system is not going to do much of a difference, but usually it does reduce the temperature from a meltdown to overheat. As for the -2000 degrees celsius, there is a bug with the way that the game calculates the generator temperature that sometimes causes it to go negative. I tried fixing it, but I didn't have much time left and the bug doesn't occur very often so I just moved on to finishing the game. In this case the temperature was 2000 celsius. Thank you for playing the game and taking the time to comment.

(1 edit)

the objective of the game is a bit unclear, and i just turn on the main block, and thats it.
